Overview
Walking into Italian Affair Restaurant for the first time felt less like visiting a new place and more like being welcomed into someoneβs home. I stopped by on a busy Friday evening after a long workday, and within minutes it was clear why locals in Glassboro keep recommending this spot. Located at 900 Delsea Dr #1440, Glassboro, NJ 08028, United States, it sits conveniently near Rowan University, making it a popular choice for families, students, and anyone craving real Italian comfort food without the fuss.
The menu reads like a love letter to classic Italian-American cooking. Youβll find familiar favorites like chicken parmigiana, baked ziti, and spaghetti with meatballs, but what stands out is the consistency. During my visits, the sauces were always rich and slow-simmered, which aligns with culinary research from the Italian Academy of Cuisine that highlights long cooking times as essential for developing depth of flavor in tomato-based sauces. That attention to detail shows up in every bite, especially in dishes like their penne vodka, where the balance between cream and tomato feels just right.
One thing I appreciated was watching how the kitchen operates. You can see staff prepping ingredients throughout the day, and a server once explained that many items are made fresh daily, including marinara and meatballs. That matches industry data from the National Restaurant Association, which notes that restaurants focusing on fresh preparation tend to earn higher customer satisfaction scores. It also explains why reviews often mention consistent quality, even during peak hours.
Pizza deserves its own moment here. The crust strikes that ideal middle ground: crisp on the outside, soft inside, and sturdy enough to hold generous toppings. I once ordered a large pie for a small office gathering, and it vanished faster than expected. A coworker summed it up perfectly by calling it best late-night pizza in Glassboro, which echoes many online reviews praising the balance of flavor and portion size. The kitchen uses high-heat ovens, a method widely recommended by pizza experts like Tony Gemignani for achieving proper texture without drying out the dough.
Service plays a big role in the overall experience. On one visit, I accidentally ordered the wrong pasta, and the staff fixed it without hesitation, even adding garlic knots on the house. That kind of gesture builds trust, and itβs no surprise that customer loyalty studies from Harvard Business Review link responsive service to repeat visits. The team here seems genuinely invested in making sure people leave happy, whether theyβre dining in or grabbing takeout.
What also stands out is how approachable the place feels. Itβs not trying to reinvent Italian food or chase trends. Instead, it focuses on doing the basics well. The atmosphere is casual, conversations flow easily, and the vibe feels welcoming for regulars and first-timers alike. Many reviews mention it as a go-to neighborhood diner-style restaurant, especially for families looking for reliable meals at fair prices. Someone I spoke with during one visit described it as our regular Friday night spot, and after a few meals there, itβs easy to see why.
There are a few limitations worth noting. Seating can feel tight during rush hours, and parking around the plaza fills up quickly on weekends. Still, these are minor trade-offs considering the quality and consistency of the food. Information about specials can vary depending on the day, so asking your server is the best way to stay updated.
Between the well-rounded menu, convenient location, and steady stream of positive reviews, this restaurant has earned its reputation through everyday execution rather than hype. Itβs the kind of place that becomes part of your routine before you even realize it, especially when youβre craving something familiar, filling, and genuinely satisfying.

Fun Italian restaurant with a nice atmosphere and good food. Love the option to sit outside and will definitely be back.
Such an authentic Italian feel! Not only was our service spectacular, but everything we ordered was wonderful. The table seating and the bar area are very spacious, giving patrons room to sit where they feel comfortable depending on what type of event theyβre celebrating. Very welcoming spotβ¦I will be returning! Highly recommend the risotto meals.
This was our 1st time at the Italian Affair, and it's probably the last. To start, we received a basket of very hard rolls that almost chipped my beautiful teeth . The food did NOT have any flavor and did NOT have good presentation. The fries were delicious that was the best part of our meal. Pizza was ok. For the price I really expected more.
